The Catalogue will be released on Friday 25th June.
Exhibition opens 2nd July 2021
I first came across the paintings of St.Ives artist, Eric Ward, many years ago in an auction room and instantly fell head over heels.
Eric's work is in my personal collection and sits beautifully with very contemporary and more traditional work. For me this is a joy because I love moving my collection around, keeping it fresh and that feeling of discovery all over again.
This is a small, but perfectly formed collection of marine paintings inspired from his home town of St.Ives alongside neighbouring locations such as Mousehole, Portscatho and Fowey. They are also very reasonable priced. I hope you love them as much as I do. They all sit in beautiful off-white handmade and handpainted frames with sea blue side detailing and the lightest touch of gold on the edges.
Although this is our first catalogue of Eric's paintings, some of you will find the style familiar, as I have included his pieces in exhibitions in London, Bath and Hong Kong over the years.
I had the pleasure of spending the day with Eric in St.Ives (pre G7 - thank goodness!) wandering around the Tate and visiting local studios and galleries. Heaven! Although I could have happily sat in his painting chair and spent the afternoon gazing over the harbour watching the hustle and bustle while the sea carried on regardless.
I look forward to returning to visit him, and Karen, soon. We have some filming planned, of his world to bring to you. I'll let you know.
