Roo Abrook and Anne Whyatt are two artists inspired by literary work and the figurative.
For Abrook it is the exploration through Mixed Media Collage made from her own original drawings and paintings and built layer by layer into portraits of women, developing the themes of beauty and time.
Whyatt paints in collections, in response to specific texts or events. Here the work of Lorca and of Gifford’s Circus. Seemingly unrelated but it is her lover for the narrative in her paintings and the celebration of her subjects in romantic form.
